Stormy Weather, Muddy Conditions in Warren
The basement in this Warren home shows the remaining sludge after our SERVPRO team extracted the floodwaters. The mud and silt contain biohazardous elements such as fecal matter, chemicals, pesticides, and microorganisms. Our job is to don our PPE personal protective equipment and shovel out the sludge with minimal damage to the structure. The After Photo illustrates the almost conclusion to the storm restoration service. The "flood cuts" exposes the wall cavities for drying, and treating with an antimicrobial product. The removal of moisture reduces the chance of rust to the studs and allows the concrete pad, which is quite porous, to slowly dry without degrading and losing strength. Air movers, axial fans, and several dehumidifiers, some of our large amount of advanced equipment, is helping to establish a return to normal moisture content and RH, the relative humidity for this area.
